The Others (Spanish; Los Otros) 2001

The Others is a 2001 horror-thriller film, distributed by Warner Bros. and Dimension films.
Grace Stewart is a devout Catholic, who lives in a house in the country, with her two young children, Anne and Nicholas. The film is set in the aftermath of World War Two. The two young children suffer from a rare disease, photosensitivity, which means all the curtains have to be shut. Three servants also live in the house, who claim to know it well, because they've worked at the house before. Grace starts to fear that they are not alone, when Anne starts drawing pictures of a man, woman, a boy called Victor, and an old woman. It is revealed that Grace killed her children in a mad act of psychosis, and when she realised what she had done, she killed herself too. However, when she "woke", she thought God had given them a second chance at life, however, she is in fact just deceased.


The older man and woman are the current residents of the house, and the little girl is a ghost, who isn't aware she is dead. The old woman is the Medium, who tells Anne that she is no longer living.

Session 9 (2001)

Session 9 is an independent psychological horror film, by USA Films and distributed by Universal Pictures. The film takes place around the Danvers State Mental Hospital, which was abandoned in 1985. A group of people from a small company, ran by Gordon Fleming, need work and accept a job to clear out the abandoned mental hospital of asbestos. They only have one week to complete the job. The team all have problems of some kind, Mike is a law school dropout, Phil is filled with bitterness because he lost his long term girlfriend, to another member of the team, Hank, who taunts Phil about it. Phil ends up starting to smoke marijuana. The final member of the team, Jeff, who is Gordon's nephew, suffers from severe nyctophobia, which is an extreme fear of the dark. When they are working at the hospital, Mike finds a box, labelled 'Evidence', in a tunnel. In the box are a collection of taped sessions with a former patient of the mental hospital, Mary Hobbes. The patient suffered from multiple personality disorder, two of which are harmless and childlike, however the final personality, named Simon, is one the other personalities never wish to talk about.

The Silence of the Lambs (1991) 

The Silence of the Lambs is a 1991 American thriller film, distributed by Orion Pictures. The film combines a mixture of crime and horror genres. The film focuses around Clarice Starling is pulled from her FBI Academy training. He assigns her to interview Hannibal Lecter. She travels to Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane.

Panic Room (2002)

Panic Room is a 2002 American thriller film, distributed by Columbia Pictures. Meg Altman, a recently divorced woman and her eleven year old daughter, Sarah, buy a new house in the Upper West Side of New York. The previous owner of the house had installed a panic room, to protect the residents of the house from intruders. The panic room is made of steel and concrete, and has security cameras and a phone line, that is seperate from other phone lines in the house. The night Meg and Sarah move into the house, three people, one being the grandson of the previous owner, decide to break in, looking for three million, that is hidden in a floor safe in the panic room. Despite the fact the house is not empty, they decide to continue with their robbery anyway. Meg wakes up and realises that they are being robbed, when she sees them on the security camera. She and her daughter run into the panic room, and the three intruders try to break into it, using gas. The intruders end up leaving the house with twenty-two million dollars, that was found inside the panic room.
